The title of this article reminds me of the Jackie Chan movie. He suffered amnesia and didn’t know who he was. All the while he was getting chased by these people trying to hurt him. This article has nothing to do with amnesia or people trying to hurt you but its still really cool. How often have you posed the question, who am I, to yourself? If you’re like me then probably not enough. Continue reading
A few weeks ago I was talking to a friend about a book she was reading.
Its called “The Power of Now”. It is a new age type book about living in
the present moment. That book has changed quite a few lives since the
release in 2010. I picked it up while it was on sale on Amazon and it is
well worth the read. One of the things that struck me was how it makes me
look at life a little different. Continue reading
Healthy eating is definitely important to achieving an optimum body weight but it is not the only key. From my experience is accounts for about 80% of your results. The other 20% comes from the activity level in your life. Here are some things I have learned about creating a healthy lifestyle.
One of the questions I get asked most is how did I lose all the weight? It seems that there is so much information out there and so many new diets to lose weight that the simple message of weight loss gets lost in the mountain of information. I wanted to spend some time to talk about the keys that I found to losing weight and keeping it off for good. Continue reading
I’ve been on a reading tear for the last few months. This month I went through three books! The book I’m reading right now is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and it really has me thinking. Habit number two is starting with the end in mind. Continue reading
I have been working on myself quite a bit these last few years. Learning about social dynamics and how people interact with each other. It has been a long process of discovery and the answers I found are not what I expected.
I found this program on the Internet that is supposed to help with the feelings of guilt, shame and fear. I knew it was one that would benefit me greatly. It was at a party one night with some family of a friend that I was living with at the time that I discovered this hidden shame that I had felt for so long. I didn’t recognize it as shame or guilt or anything else. It was just something that I accepted as normal and figured most people had the same feelings. Continue reading
I can’t believe April is already over. Where did my month go? I’m sitting down to finally write out this article that has been in the works all month. It seems that I have so much to say yet so little thought out. I debated if I would even write this article or pick something else more fluffy and light hearted. It would, however, not be what I wrote about in my about page. Continue reading
It seems like I’ve been on the move for the last few years. I spend a year and a half in Albuquerque then another nine months in Winston-Salem. My time at both places taught me a lot about how different people live all over the country and really opened my eyes to how cool of a place we actually live! The experience that I lacked was really living in a big city. My next stop, New York City, would change that. Continue reading
In the last month I’ve learned a lot about what it means to be a vegan. Its funny how lifestyle change like this really alters my perspective. I have found a respect for the vegan lifestyle and believe there are some useful things that can be learned from this lifestyle. Continue reading
In November I posted about a new diet that I had been on since the summer. The paleo / caveman diet. It seems a new year has brought a new diet with it. Funny as it seems, I have done a complete 360 in the last week. I’ve gone vegan. Continue reading
