Who Am I?

Image

whoamiThe title of this article reminds me of the Jackie Chan movie. He suffered amnesia and didn’t know who he was. All the while he was getting chased by these people trying to hurt him. This article has nothing to do with amnesia or people trying to hurt you but its still really cool. How often have you posed the question, who am I, to yourself? If you’re like me then probably not enough. Continue reading

The Power of Now

Image

0x0_8705235A few weeks ago I was talking to a friend about a book she was reading.
Its called “The Power of Now”. It is a new age type book about living in
the present moment. That book has changed quite a few lives since the
release in 2010. I picked it up while it was on sale on Amazon and it is
well worth the read. One of the things that struck me was how it makes me
look at life a little different. Continue reading

Start With the End in Mind

Image

the-endI’ve been on a reading tear for the last few months. This month I went through three books! The book I’m reading right now is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and it really has me thinking. Habit number two is starting with the end in mind. Continue reading

Big Move to the Big Apple

Image

It seems like I’ve been on the move for the last few years. I spend a year and a half in Albuquerque then another nine months in Winston-Salem. My time at both places taught me a lot about how different people live all over the country and really opened my eyes to how cool of a place we actually live! The experience that I lacked was really living in a big city. My next stop, New York City, would change that. Continue reading

New Year, New You?

Image

As another year comes to a close it seems like a good time to look back. I know a lot of people like to use New Years to implement some change in their lives. Perhaps it is going to the gym more or just spending more time with your family. I was never patient enough to wait until New Years to make change I really wanted to make. Instead, I would make changes all through the year. Why waste time? I think New Years is more of an excuse than a reason to change. Continue reading

Approach Reflections, Part 2

Image

The second question I posed last time was this. How do I change my choices in dating? This question has bothered me for quite a while. There is no simple, easy answers. It also begs another question. What am I selling? Dating is about selling yourself to someone else. Unfortunately in this business, it is always personal. Continue reading

Approach Reflections, Part 1

Image

It seems like so long ago that I made the first approach. I can see that those first approaches really challenged my reality. My goal was to be proactive and handle a part of my life that had seemed to elude me for so long. I wanted to have choice in my dating life and wanted to be working toward that goal. Continue reading

Love Your Mother

Image

When is the last time you told your mom that you love her? I know for me it has been way too long. Guys in general have problems with showing affection and love to others. I know I’ve told myself that I’m just not wired that way. My family have never been ones to show affection to one another. I can’t remember the last time I kissed my mom and told her that I love her. Continue reading

No Fear

Image

I remember doing some crazy things as a kid. One day we got a trampoline for the backyard. My dad spent days digging out this special spot in the back to put it. The trampoline needed a large amount of flat area and so he leveled the ground and put it together for us. That spot was cool for awhile but since it was dug into the ground, it didn’t make it seem like you were jumping as high. Continue reading

Self Confrontation

Image

Last night I joined a new class at church. The class is called Step By Step and is taught out of a book called Self-Confrontation. I heard from my friend who took it last session that the homework was difficult and that it took a lot of time and dedication. Continue reading
